I found a link to this article on Facebook, I wa first drawn to it by the feminist aspect of it and then decided it was a must read when I saw it was about Miley Cyrus. Honestly, until this point I didn't really care what Miley did, or the way she acted, it didn't effect me in any way. But when she began to claim that she is a good role model for young girls I changed my mind. As Miley Cyrus says, she believes being a feminist means not caring what others think, owning who you are and not being put down by society, I also believe this is a part of feminism but Miley Cyrus takes it to a new extreme. It's ok to be proud of who you are and be comfortable in your own skin but Miley's videos objectify and make women look helpless and pretty pathetic if you ask me. I respect Miley Cyrus as a preformer but I don't believe she should be trying to promote herself as a role model. What do you think?
